Previously, Rachel was an Executive Director and Senior Counsel at Goldman Sachs in London, specializing in derivatives and structured finance. Interested in data and technology, Rachel completed the Blockchain Strategy program at Oxford University`s Said Business School in 2018. Also in 2018, Rachel founded NSW`s First Hundred Years initiative to celebrate the centenary of women in law and was a finalist for the 2022 Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards. In this role, Rachel will expand D2LT`s regional presence and work closely with existing and new ACPA clients on regulatory implementation, legal processes, contract management and documentation. We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Rachel Scanlon as the Executive Director for ACPA at D2LT. The ability to see things from the perspective of others and an innate understanding of the business and societal benefits of having people with different talents, backgrounds and mindsets in an organization. Rachel is Head of Asia Pacific at D2 Legal Technology. Rachel is the Managing Director for ACPA at D2 Legal Technology. After working as an investment banking lawyer in London, Hong Kong and Tokyo for over 20 years, Rachel returned to Sydney in 2014, where she served as General Counsel at Magellan Financial Group and Head of Derivatives at Challenger.
Rachel leads the D2LT Women`s Network worldwide, is the Director of Governance for International Women`s Forum Australia and serves on the Board of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Also in 2018, Rachel founded NSW`s First Hundred Years initiative, which celebrates the centenary of women in law. Rachel plays piano and harp and has been a board member of Australia`s leading classical vocal ensemble, The Song Company. She is currently a committee member of the Vancouver Group of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Director of Governance of the International Women`s Forum Australia. I always loved debating in school, so I thought I could become a lawyer, but eventually, after graduation, I went to the law firm and was now home for most of my career.
